of polypeptides claborated by certain strains of Bacillus polymyxa var.
colistinus or obtained by any other means. It's chemical family is Cylic
Peptide Antibiotic. |

Colistin Sulphate is an antibiotic of basic
polypeptides composed by various amino acids and fatty acids. It has strong
antibiotic effect against intestinal diseases caused by gram-negative
bacilli. It is used as feed addictive and also has some growth-promoting
effect. |
