 | Description |
|
Flavomycin, elaborated from microbiological fermentation, consists of at
least 4significant components: moenomycins A, B1, B2 and C with moenomycin A
as the main course. The pure & non-crystalline solids Are colorless and
odorless. The melting point is changeable. Under heating, it begins to melt
at 200℃. The UV spectrum exhibits a maximum absorption at 258nm when it is
dissolved into neutral solvent. Soluble in Water, methanol, DMF and ethanol.
Sparingly soluble in ether, ethyl acetate. Practically insoluble in benzene.
No
side or negative effects were observed when Flavomycin was administered
orally. The results obtained from a study into which Flavomycin was added to
Feed and was administered at 50ppm to targeted animals indicate that the
drug exhibited positives on body weight, feed utilization, hatchability,
weight gains and the concentration of glucose in blood. |

 | Mode of Action |
|
As a growth promoter: Flavomycin can enhance
digestion of protein and extra energy to
thin the intestinal tract wall and improve nutrient absorption. The drug can
effectively
prevent synthesis of carbohydrate and protein, and increase irritability by
striking a balance
between intestinal tract flora groups and maintaining PH stability. The anti-bacterial activity can prevent /
interfere biological synthesis of peptidic polysaccharides and synthesis of
sensitive cell wall. Nevertheless, it is not applied clinically. The scope
of application is confined to growth promotion currently.
Characteristics:
growth promotion without the presence of carcinogenic, mutagenic and
teratogenic effects. |
